Micron Picks Boise for Its Next Fab
Abstract:
Micron Technology Inc. (Boise, Idaho) plans to build its next fab in Boise, although a timeline has not been established, Micron spokesman Dan Francisco said.Micron president and COO Mark Durcan said at a press briefing Monday that Micron has selected Boise as its preferred site when it builds another wholly owned 300 mm facility, Francisco said.
"When that facility is built is dependent on market conditions, and the company has no firm timeline in place. Because of the synergy with our research and development in Boise and the support of the government, we have selected Boise as the site for our next wholly owned fab when it makes sense to build one," Francisco said.
