Home > Press > ColorPol® MIR CODIXX to Enter the Mid Infrared Range Market
Abstract:
CODIXX introduces the colorPol® MIR polarizer to enter the corresponding market for polarizing filters in the spectra range from 2000 to 4500nm.
CODIXX extends the colorPol® polarizer product family with the colorPol® MIR to cover the mid infrared range.
With the steady raise of applications in the MIR range like matter analysis or thermography, the polarizer is thrusted into the spotlight.
CODIXX's answer to this challenge is the new colorPol® MIR.
This filter comes with a very large bandwidth and provides high extinction ratios of above 10,000 : 1 (40dB) within 2.0 µm ‑ 4.5 µm (in wavenumbers 5,000 cm¹ - 2,222 cm¹) and above 1,000 : 1 (30dB) within 1.5 µm - 5.0 µm (in wavenumbers 6,666 cm¹ - 2,000 cm¹). Transmittance properties up to 90% underline the entitlement to a high performance polarizer.
Based on the unique colorPol® technology for doping of sodium silicate glass with prolate silver nanoparticles all colorPol® polarizers provide high temperature stability up to + 400° C, resistance against rough environmental influences, against the most chemicals, UV radiation and bleaching as well as the ease applicability to name a few.
Dimensions ranging from 1 x 1 mm² up to 100 x 50 mm² and different shapes are available. In addition, the filter is offered in standard versions with diameters of 12.5 mm, 25.0 mm as well as 0.5 inches and 1 inches, respectively.
