Abstract:
KWJ Engineering Inc., Newark, California, and Eco Sensors, Inc., Santa Fe, New Mexico, announce the acquisition of Eco Sensors by KWJ Engineering, effective January 2, 2008. Eco Sensors will become a division of KWJ Engineering, keeping the Eco Sensors name, logo, products and distributors. Larry Kilham, owner and president of Eco Sensors, will become a board member and consultant to KWJ Engineering. The Eco Sensors division will be headed by Ed Tomingas who has been its general manager and will remain in Santa Fe.

KWJ Engineering Inc., Newark, California, and Eco Sensors, Inc., Santa Fe, New Mexico, announce the acquisition of Eco Sensors by KWJ Engineering, effective January 2, 2008. Eco Sensors will become a division of KWJ Engineering, keeping the Eco Sensors name, logo, products and distributors. Larry Kilham, owner and president of Eco Sensors, will become a board member and consultant to KWJ Engineering. About KWJ Engineering Inc.
KWJ Engineering, located in the San Francisco Bay Area, designs and manufactures a broad range of gas sensing instruments. While KWJ builds on traditional technology, new products use state of the art designs with patented MEMS and nanotechnology for sensors to achieve high performance gas detection systems. KWJ assets now include a portfolio of over 25 gas sensor and instrumentation patents resulting from the 2007 merger with Transducer Technology, Inc., a high tech startup.

KWJ Engineering was started in 1993 by Ken Johnson, a Cal Tech engineer who is a pioneer in gas detection instrumentation. Ken founded GasTech, now part of ThermoFisher, before he started KWJ where he remains as chairman. Dr. Joe Stetter, an internationally recognized expert in gas sensor and MEMS technology, is president of KWJ Engineering.

The combined companies will have synergies in both technology development and market presence. The acquisition of Eco Sensors should provide for a new and advanced capability to deliver unique, patented, and highly advanced gas detection products worldwide. KWJ has facilities in Newark, California that include a sensor development and manufacturing clean room in addition to specialty product manufacturing. Eco Sensors will maintain its advanced production facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
