Take 5 with Michael Poterala, executive director, MSU Technologies
Abstract:
During the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2007, MSU received 35 U.S. patents, up from 21 for the 2005-06 fiscal year, Poterala said. MSU researchers submitted 161 invention disclosures during the 2006-07 fiscal year, up from 156 the year before. MSU entered into 17 new technology license agreements last year and 21 the previous year.
Poterala highlighted East Lansing startup company XG Sciences Inc. as a point of pride for MSU Technologies. The company licensed technology from MSU during the summer and in November was recognized by Nanotech Briefs, an online industry publication, for developing a new nanomaterial.
