Ener1, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ENEI), an alternative energy company, announced that the United States Senate approved funding of $1 million to its EnerDel subsidiary for research to develop, produce and evaluate superior battery technology for mass transit hybrid electric buses. The funding was approved as part of the FY 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill passed in the Senate on December 19 by a vote of 76-17.
