MIND OPENER: Wired Attire
Abstract:
One area in which manufacturers have to be futurists by default, is fashion. In order to anticipate what's going to be the rage next month, season or year, they have to either predict accurately or lose on sales. Nevertheless, catwalk capers are notorious for being off the mark at least half the time if not more. One thing, however, which most style gurus in the emerging field of smart fabrics and intelligent textiles are pretty sure about now is that the future of garments is going to be high tech and digital. Like, anti-crease is antediluvian. These days, thanks to nanotechnology, an ultra thin high-performance water and grime repellent coating can be applied to cloth so that dirt can no longer penetrate into the fibres of the fabric.
