NSF awards UMass Lowell $2.3M

Abstract:
The University of Massachusetts Lowell reports it has won $2.3 million in federal research funding for the study of fields ranging from nanotechnology to sensors.

The National Science Foundation has awarded four grants to UMass Lowell researchers, according to university officials.

The largest grant, worth $800,000, was awarded to five UMass Lowell researchers for research on explosive detection sensor technology. Two UMass Lowell researchers, meanwhile, in partnership with researchers from Northeastern and Tufts universities, won $589,775 for a project to study the industrial safety of nanoheaters.
