Nanoscientist Departs for Northwestern U.
Abstract:
MOVING AGAIN: J. Fraser Stoddart, a nanoscience pioneer, describes himself as "someone who thrives on change," moving, on average, every seven or eight years. Having been at the University of California at Los Angeles for 10 years, he decided it was time to once again up and go.
In January Mr. Stoddart, 65, will join Northwestern University as a professor of chemistry and director of the new Center for the Chemistry of Integrated Systems. "If I were to stay on at UCLA for more than 10 years," he says, "I wouldn't have the same feeling of excitement and challenge and drive that I feel at the moment."
