Turkish researchers challenge Edison’s light bulb
Abstract:
Turkish researchers have invented a new source of light that relies on nanotechnology, which could be an alternative to Thomas Edison's traditional bulb, modern versions of which currently illuminate houses around the world.
Bilkent University's Hilmi Volkan Demir and his research team have achieved solid-state white light generation using nanocrystal hybridization on light emitting diodes, with tunable color properties -- a world first.
