Space elevator musak to feature Coolio, 50 Cent
Abstract:
The School of Arts & Humanities will be developing elevator muzak for the space elevator the NanoTech Institute is developing.
Zeta Heavens, A&H associate dean, said a team of students and professors want to record a unique soundtrack for occupants of the space elevator, which will use nanotechnology to create an lift to outer space.
"It's quite a long ride," Heavens said. "We just want to make their wait a little more entertaining."
The album, "Elevatrix," will feature the UTD Chamber Pot Singers and a kazoo band directed by Heavens.
"This heavenly music is a dream of the future, but it's an achievable dream," said Jay Pokeman, director of the Nanotech Institute.
