Home > Press > Altairnano and Phoenix to Exhibit at Alternative Fuels and Vehicles National Conference
Abstract:
Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. (Nasdaq: ALTI) will exhibit its NanoSafe™ battery packs, as installed in Phoenix Motorcars' sports utility trucks (SUT), at the Alternative Fuels and Vehicles National Conference & Expo, the world's largest alternative fuel and vehicle technology gathering, held April 1-4 in Anaheim, Calif.
The Altairnano battery-powered Phoenix SUTs are attracting growing attention from a variety of fleet vehicle operators seeking safe, reliable, powerful zero-emissions vehicles. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) recently placed an order with Phoenix to add its all-electric, zero-emissions Phoenix SUT to the PG&E service vehicle fleet.
Altairnano's safe, fast-charging, long-life nano-Titanate battery packs enable Phoenix's freeway-ready SUT to exceed all specifications for the State of California Type III ZEV accreditation. Altairnano's NanoSafe 35kWh pack can be recharged in less than 10 minutes with sufficient electric transmission capacity and provides power and energy for a full-size fleet vehicle to travel up to 130 miles, carrying up to five adults, at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
"This event is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate how and why the Phoenix SUT, powered by an Altairnano NanoSafe battery, is an excellent solution for the wide array of challenges faced by the fleet vehicle market," said Alan J. Gotcher, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Altair Nanotechnologies Inc.
The Altairnano-powered Phoenix SUT will be featured in both the Phoenix booth as well as in the Ride & Drive event. The Ride & Drive event will run Sunday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 3rd from 11:00am to 1:30pm each day and provides the general public the opportunity of riding in the Phoenix Motorcars SUT.
The Expo will be held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. More information on the event can be found at http://www.afvi.org/NationalConference2007
