Abstract:
AUSTRALIA should immediately invest the windfalls from its natural resources boom in increased research and development spending, a leading Silicon Valley figure says.
On the eve of a visit to Australia, Professor Bill Miller, from Stanford University, said that the country risks becoming a knowledge economy backwater, and should get serious about frontier science such as nanotechnology.
