UT-Dallas faculty member and Nobel laureate dies
Abstract:
Nobel laureate and University of Texas at Dallas faculty member, Alan G. MacDiarmid, died of Leukemia Wednesday morning in a Philadelphia hospital. He was 79.
MacDiarmid, the 2000 Nobel laureate in chemistry, joined the UT-Dallas faculty in 2002, filling the newly created James Von Ehr Distinguished Chair in Science and Technology.
In recent years, MacDiarmid has conducted research in fields of nanoelectronics and renewable energy.
