Abstract:
BioForce Nanosciences Holdings, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BFNH.OB), today comments on making the
"Class of 2006" list of nanotech stocks to watch. Found on Forbes.com, the list is an update of a scorecard the Forbes/Wolfe Nanotech Report developed some years ago. It names BioForce among 20 nano-related companies to keep an eye on, while cautioning that inclusion isn't a recommendation.
"We've believed all along that our surface patterning technology is new
and exciting," notes BioForce's Kerry Frey, chief operating officer. "The
variety of research being conducted utilizing nanotechnology as the
standard has exploded. Our niche in the life sciences discipline is a
strategic move as biosensors and nanosensors move from academic R&D into
commercial product development." BioForce only entered public trading in
March 2006 but has been in business since 1994. The bulk of BioForce's
business falls under its wholly owned subsidiary, BioForce Nanosciences,
Inc. Their flagship product, the Nano eNabler(TM) system, is a benchtop
molecular printer that places tiny domains of biological materials onto
surfaces with nanometer spatial precision.
The Forbes/Wolfe report states that 2006 wasn't a banner year for
nanotech stocks, but assures that for the patient investor, rewards are on
the horizon for nanotech and nano-related stocks. The life sciences
discipline is receiving positive reports as well. For example, Ernst &
Young, LLP reported in 2006 that the American biotechnology industry has
surpassed pharmaceutical companies for the third straight year as the
primary source of new medicines, and biotech revenue jumped nearly 16
percent to a record $50.7 billion in 2005.
