World-class process transfer: how Intel sows the seeds of success
Abstract:
As Intel rolls out its next generation of faster, smarter, smaller microchips, one of its Oregon campuses is hosting hundreds of employees from around the world to immerse them in the latest chip-making technology.
About 700 of the so-called "seeds" are working in Hillsboro, most from Ireland and Arizona. When they leave, they will help the company overhaul factories back home to harness new production techniques devised in Oregon.
