Small sensor sparks big interest

Abstract:
Small, sensitive, speedy, selective and simple, a new single-molecule sensor has all the makings of the ultimate detecting machine. The first-of-its-kind nanoscale system -- more than 1,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair -- stands to play a big part in what some scientists see as a revolution in diagnostics.
