"The Society for Experimental Mechanics is important to Nanomechanics because it allows us direct contact with the people using our instruments,” said Sebastian Ward, VP of sales and marketing at Nanomechanics, Inc. “It is always exciting to see their latest work presented during various talks and sessions and gives us a real-world appreciation of where our tools are being used to further understand the behaviors of materials.”

Nanomechanics will present its new nanomechanical testing system known as the Gemini. This system has the ability to measure not only load and displacement but stiffness and phase angle. Gemini measures at specific frequencies parallel to the surface continuously and simultaneously. This has resulted in entirely new results concerning the onset of sliding between two bodies in contact.

The Society for Experimental Mechanics is composed of international members from academia, government, and industry who are committed to interdisciplinary application, research and development, education, and active promotion of experimental methods.
