Abstract:
The preparation of “2nd International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine-2015 (ICIDN-2015)”, scheduled to be held in Kathmandu, NEPAL from December 15-18, 2015 is in progress, despite the recent tragic earthquakes.
International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine (ICIDN)-2015, the second edition of the ICIDN tri-annual series of conference will be held from December 15-18, 2015 in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. This conference is aimed at fostering interdisciplinary collaborative education for research and innovation in biomedical sciences. ICIDN-2015 will particularly focus on the molecular microbiology of infectious diseases and potential applications of nanotechnology for the diagnosis and treatments of infectious diseases and cancers.
The ICIDN-2015 is organized by Nepalese Forum for Medical Microbiology (NFMM), the only official member society of International Union of Microbiological Societies (IUMS) to Nepal and Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI), the only national representative organization of International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) to Nepal, jointly with CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Biotechnology (CoEBio), Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, according to a statement issued by the organizers. The conference is supported by European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), the largest society of its kind in Europe, based at Basel, Switzerland.
ICIDN-2015 will be accompanied by one day pre-conference workshop (short-course) on related topics for students and young scientist. Scientific programs of ICIDN-2015 will comprise of Opening Lectures, Keynote/Invited Lectures, other Oral Presentations and Poster Sessions under the symposia topics: Cellular and Molecular Microbiology of Infectious Diseases; Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases Surveillance; Microbiome in Health and Infectious Diseases; Immune Response against Infectious Pathogens; Antimicrobials, Vaccines and Alternatives; Drug Design, Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering; Nano-materials and Bio-medical Materials.
Santosh Thapa, Co-Convener of the event said “Despite the recent tragic earthquakes that hit Nepal, many world renowned scientists in the field of microbiology, infectious diseases, immunology, pathology, epidemiology, biotechnology, material sciences and nanotechnology has already confirmed their participation in ICIDN-2015”. Mr. Thapa further mentioned “this event in-turn will provide a platform for the scientific friends and well-wishers of Nepal to show their solidarity and support in a process of rebuilding our beautiful Nepal, particularly in an aftermath of huge natural tragedy.”
According to a statement issued by the organizers, one of the confirmed speakers of the event is Distinguished Professor Ananda Mohan CHAKRABARTY from the University of Illinois College Of Medicine at Chicago based at Chicago, Illinois, USA. Prof. Chakrabarty is a well-known microbiologist and a recipient of the “Civilian Padma Shri award” by the Government of India along with US Army Distinguished Service Award, Pasteur Award, Inventor of the Year Award, American Chemical Society Public Affairs Award, MERIT Award from NIH, Procter and Gamble Environmental Biotechnology Award, European Union Eurydice Award, to name a few. Other renowned speakers confirmed to date are Professor Muhammad G. MORSHED (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of British Columbia, BC, Canada), Professor Robert R. BRAGG (Department of Microbial, Biochemical and Food Biotechnology, University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa), Professor Mahi R. SINGH (Department of Physics and Astronomy, The University of Western Ontario, Ontario, Canada), and Professor Abdul HAQUE (University Medical and Dental College, The University of Faisalabad, Faisalabad, Pakistan). Many graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and young researchers from Australia, China, India, Mongolia, Pakistan, and USA have already confirmed their participation to ICIDN-2015 representing a diverse background of medicine, clinical sciences, infectious diseases, medical microbiology, epidemiology, public health, environmental health, pathology, medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, material sciences and nanotechnology.
The organizers would like to invite you to participate and contribute to the ICIDN-2015 and looking forward to welcome all of you in mid-December in Kathmandu.
