Abstract:
Iranian researchers at the Amirkabir University of Technology produced a Nano medicine-career for prostate cancer, expected to reduce chemotherapy side effects.
The researchers hope that they can produce the drug career as medical supplementary for people who are at the risk of cancer genetically, the Iranian students' news agency reported.
Sepideh Amjad, the lead author of the study said dendrimers are one of the medicine-careers. "The drugs should be attached to the surface of dendrimers or be put inside their holes to send the drug."
She said that biodegradability is one of the main characteristics of the medicine-careers. "The anti-cancer medicines damage other tissues. We have been seeking design of medicine-career dendrimers which can release anti-cancer medicines only in the intended point."
Using the medicine-career produced for prostate cancer treatment, the medicine remains in blood and activates smartly especially for patients suffering cancer genetically.
She expressed the hope that the device could prove useful for people who are at the risk of cancer genetically.
The system does not release poison in body when released and is under in vitro tests.
