Abstract:
Korea's annual tech knowledge forum 'Tech+' is returning once again with the participation of big name leaders of the industry from around the world to give lectures on the latest of wearable computers, 3D and more at the convention center in Sejong University in Seoul on November 14.
The forum will kick off with a keynote speech by Eric Drexler, the first to define the concept of 'nano' in the world in 1981 and also the term 'nanotechnology' in his book "Engines of Creation (1986),' translated into 13 languages.
In the second session titled 'Over the mobile to the sea' Sridhar lyengar, who co-founded Misfit Wearables, with Aaron Grant, the co-founder of Thalmic Labs, and John Scully, the former CEO of Apple, will explain and demonstrate the development trends of wearable computers and its business model. 'MYO' in particular, which would be presented by Grant, is known as one of the hottest products of its kind that can be worn like a wrist band and can operate computer and other devices with a mere hand gesture.
The third session titled 'Creative ideas into reality' will present lectures and demonstrations from Maxwell Bogue, the inventor of 3D printing pan '3Doodler,' and Roland Lamb, the winner of the world's prestigious music technology competition, with his high-tech keyboard 'Seaboard.' Separately Li Hao of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, who was selected as 'Innovator under 35' by MIT Technology Review, will share behind the scenes stories of special effects in the movie 'Star Wars.'
After the lecture, the global innovators will move away from heavy discussions to gather around for a fun talk show themed 'How to develop industrial technology together with humans and society.' Local university professors in the related field including Professor Kim Dae-sik of KAIST and professor Na Keon of Hongik University will join the session.
