Abstract:
Innovnano, an expert manufacturer of high performance ceramic powders, will be presenting a poster at Materials Science and Technology (MS&T) 2013, 27-31 October, Montreal, Canada. The poster, entitled ‘Zirconia with improved fracture toughness and flexural strength' will demonstrate that zirconia-based, nanostructured powders with a lower mol % Yttria content can produce ceramic materials with enhanced flexural strength and fracture toughness, without any consequential impact on hardness. Such properties are highly advantageous for components in demanding environments which need to function effectively over the long term, for example engine components such as bearings and nozzles. The poster will be presented on 30 October from 9.30-10.30, as part of Session B: Ceramic and Glass Materials in the Exhibit Hall of the Palais des Congrès de Montréal. Innovnano will be on-hand to answer any questions.

At Innovnano's booth (#1317), key employees will also be available to provide delegates with technical insight into the many advantages that nanostructured powders offer the ceramic applications industry. Compared to conventional microstructured powders, materials with an intrinsic nanostructure offer enhanced chemical and physical properties, allowing application-specific optimization of materials. Innovnano's patented manufacturing technology - Emulsion Detonation Synthesis - is a unique high pressure, high temperature production process which enables ceramic powders to be produced on an industrial scale with high batch-to-batch consistency while retaining the all-important nanostructure.
