Abstract:
3D Printing Live!, hosted by IDTechEx and taking place in Santa Clara CA on November 21-22, 2013 will bring an entirely new audience to the 3D printing arena.

3D Printing Live! A new event has joined the ranks of the international 3D printing conferences

Cambridge, MA | Posted on October 15th, 2013

Originally viewed as a rapid prototyping tool, the raft of technologies known as 3D Printing, or alternatively additive manufacturing, have reached a level of sophistication where they are now on the cusp of moving into production part manufacture.
3D printing is a means to additively generate 3-dimensional objects on a layer-by-layer basis with material options ranging from photopolymers, thermoplastics, metal powders and more.

Now viewed as virtually standard tools in the automotive, aerospace, and other engineering industries, new markets are opening up in the medical and dental fields especially, where the ease of producing, for example, customised implants without the need to amortise tooling costs is highly attractive.

3D Printing Live! provides a full overview of the field including end-user perspectives, technology and materials developments,, functional 3D printing, and the software led supply chain.

At this event you will hear what Boeing, IBM, Princeton, Optomec, Harvard, Microsoft, Sandvik and many others have to say about the latest developments in 3D printing, moving from a hardware based traditional out-sourced manufacturing perspective towards a functional, local, software led supply chain.

This conference will give a realistic evaluation of the future of 3D printing presented by some of the biggest names in the business.
