Abstract:
The best students in the Fourth Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Olympiads were rewarded gold, silver, and bronze medals as well as honorary diplomas in the closing ceremony.
According to the statistics announced by Ms. Eslamipour, the Manager of the Nano Club, a number of 20 students had registered in the Olympiads, from which 68% were female and 32% were male.
Dr. Soltani, the Head of Policy Making Workgroup of Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council, stated in the closing ceremony of the Fourth Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Olympiads that teaching the managerial issues to students is the basis of the formation of successful companies.
"Success requires two wings. One is science, and the other is managerial skill. Students must be trained in a way that in case they become scientists in future, they would have some managerial partners and in case they become managers, they would have a scientific team working with them. The main difference in Nanotechnology Olympiad is the fact that in addition to learning nanoscience, students are taught technical skills and the principals of business management. Students have pointed out in their comments to this issue too," he added.
The second stage of the Fourth Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Olympiads was held in two theoretical and practical sections. The theoretical exam was carried out in the form of multi-choices and descriptive questions while the practical exam included the presentation of articles.
In addition to other rewards, the winners of the Olympiads will receive educational and research fund of $100 monthly for two years.
