This year's conference features keynote presentations that focus on the steps needed to deploy emerging nanotechnologies into the bioeconomy. Hear from these recognized global leaders:

"Small World, Large Impact: Driving a Materials Revolution through Nanotechnology"
Arthur Carty, Executive Director & Research Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology, University of Waterloo, Special Advisor to the President on International Science and Technology Collaboration

"Towards High-Value Applications of Nanocellulose: A Player and Patent Landscape Approach"
Katja Salmenkivi, Pöyry Management Consulting

"Key Considerations for Successful Technology Transfer of Nanocellulose"
Martha Marrapese, Keller and Heckman, USA

"Life Cycle Considerations of Nanomaterials: Possibilities for Evaluating the Environmental Impact Renewable Nanomaterials"
David Lazarevic, Division of Environmental Strategies Research and the Division of Industrial Ecology, KTH

"Nanosafety Research and Legislation in European Union: Future Activities"
Tom van Teunenbroek, Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment, The Netherlands

TAPPI's 8th International Conference on Nanotechnology for Renewable Materials is the only event that explores how nanotechnology can transform biomaterials into high-value products that expand and transcend traditional forest products portfolios. It brings together leading researchers, industry experts, government representatives and other stakeholders from around the world.

A comprehensive technical program forms the core of the conference. Topics include safety, standards, nanocoatings, packaging developments and applications, nanocrystal modeling, composites/interfaces, rheology in suspensions, surface modifications, CNF processing and organic/inorganic nanocellulose hybrids.
