Dr. Rawiwan thesis entitled "Synthetic Metal Nanowires: Applications towards on-demand Reaction and Autonomous Motions" shows that multifunctional nanowires offers limitless integrated properties and multiple surface functionalization.

"The focus of the research was on magnetic controlled electrocatalytic and bioelectrocatalytic reactions in biosensing systems, including electrocatalytic designs for power enhancement and magnetic manipulation of catalytic nanomotor" said Dr. Rawiwan. "The ability to control chemical reactions will offer innovative prospects in greater area of biosensor and biomedical applications".

The award is given annually to promote research development and honor Thai researchers who work in scientific and social science fields. In 2012, a total of 77 awards were granted (10 awards for National Outstanding Researcher Awards, 28 Research Awards, and 39 Thesis Awards).

The awards will be granted to the winners by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul at Impact Arena Muang Thong Thani on the National Inventor's Day, on February 2, 2013.

Collaborator for this research included the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Arizona State University, USA.
