Abstract:
MEDIA ADVISORY
WHAT: UAlbany NanoCollege to host High-Tech Job Fair to assist in filling more than 50 new positions at M+W Group
WHERE: CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex
257 Fuller Road, Albany
WHEN: Tuesday, August 28 - 4:30 to 8 p.m.
As a showcase of Governor Andrew Cuomo's innovation-driven economic development model embodied by New York's globally recognized nanotechnology industry, the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany will host a High-Tech Job Fair - supported by a joint community outreach to strongly encourage participation from women and underrepresented social groups in engineering and technical fields - to assist M+W Group in adding more than 50 positions to its workforce in New York's Capital Region.
The job fair is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex.
Among more than 50 career opportunities are positions in various areas of design operations and construction management, including architects, engineers and designers, project managers, and accounting and support staff. These positions carry annual salaries that range from $40,000 to over $100,000, and some offer both domestic and international travel opportunities in support of M+W's global projects.
A significant outreach effort is now underway to encourage women and minority candidates, as well as veterans, to participate in the event. Those interested in attending and interviewing at the Job Fair are encouraged to pre-register and upload their resumes online by visiting cnse.albany.edu/Outreach/JobFair2012.aspx.
The event will provide excellent interview and video/photo opportunities. Reporters/photographers wishing to cover the event should follow the signs to CNSE's NanoFab South Rotunda and Auditorium. Parking is available in the adjacent traffic circle.
