DFF strongly supporting German companies 3D, solid state lighing, touch and interactivity as well as green and printed electronics in focus

Frankfurt, Germany and Boston, MA | Posted on June 5th, 2012

At this year's SID Display Week, which takes place in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, the German Flat Panel Display Forum (DFF) presents 15 exhibitors from Germany. It is the ninth year in a row that the DFF organizes the German Pavilion together with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry. The SID Display Week - the leading conference and show for the display industry - organised by the Society for Information Displays celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

At the SID international exhibitors represent the entire value added chain of the display industry and show the latest developments and technologies. Together with the joint symposium with scientific lectures focussing on this year's main topics 3D, solid state lighting, green and printed electronics as well as touch and interactive display the show will present not only commercial products but will also feature prototypes and new technologies.

The German Pavilion gathers 11 exhibiting companies under one roof, the information booth, moreover, offers information on additional German companies of the display industry. Four more members of the DFF, like Merck as the worldwide leading manufacturer of liquid crystals, are represented with their own booths. A total of 22 German companies show that they can very well compete on the international market. No other country except for the host is represented with such a large number of exhibitors.

The focus of the German Pavilion is on new technologies: the company Novaled presents its recent developments in the PIN OLED® technology, PolyIC shows printed electronics as there are transparent and conducting PolyTC® films and their applications. Coatema Coating Machinery provides the respective production lines for such roll-to-roll printed electronics.

Adt Deutschland shows an electrowetting based and energy saving display technology called "Droplet-Driven-Displays", and two Fraunhofer Institutes, IPMS and HHI, present the newest developments in head-mounted displays and 3D technology.

The portfolio is completed by material and component manufacturers like Flabeg, one of the technically leading companies in the area of glass finishing for the automotive industry and digital signage, CODIXX producing glass-based polarizers as well as the equipment manufacturer Aixtron, producing deposition facilities for the LED and OLED production. The scientific publishing house Springer presents its handbook on "Visual Display Technology", which has been published only recently. The system integrator Electronic Assembly shows interactive displays with acoustic feedback.

With visitors from 30 countries the show definitely is an international one compared to other similar events. With its comprehensive range of products the SID covers the entire world market and that makes it a "must" for the international FPD-scene.

You can find the German Pavilion at booth no. 1312 in the Exhibition Hall of the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Besides the exhibition SID Display Week offers a unique first-class international symposium and accompanying seminars from June 3 to June 8.
