![]() |
Abstract:
Toronto-based Integran Technologies, Inc. (Integran) today announced that it has reached an agreement with Enduro Industries LLC (Enduro) to extend Enduro's license exclusivity term for Integran's nanocrystalline Cobalt electroplating process, Nanovate™ CoP, in the US fluid power market by five years.
Enduro Industries LLC of Hannibal, Missouri, a subsidiary of PTC Alliance, and a major manufacturer of hard chrome steel bars and tubes for the fluid power industry, has successfully marketed a corrosion and wear resistant Nano-CobaltTM alternative alongside its conventional engineered hard chrome (EHC) ChromerodTM and Chromrod ExtremeTM product lines.
"The extension of the exclusivity agreement with Enduro is a natural progression of the mutually beneficial commercial relationship between our two companies and recognizes Enduro's technical and commercial achievements in their main markets to date", said Dr. Gino Palumbo, Integran's President and CEO.
"Furthermore, this agreement will now extend to other Cobalt-based Nanovate coatings systems and a new field repair process recently developed by Integran."
"The exclusivity extension will enable Enduro to scale up our production capability and to diversify into other segments of our core markets. Compared to EHC coatings, the Nano-CobaltTM coating process provides significantly increased deposition rates, which results in a significant corrosion resistance improvement and a fatigue life credit. Our Nano-CobaltTM coatings have been well received in the market and have enabled us to penetrate new applications and offer unique benefits into some of the most challenging fluid power environments", said Andrew Moline, Enduro's Vice President, Operations.
Integran originally developed Nanovate™-CoP as an alternative to hard chrome electroplating with funding assistance from the U.S. Department of Defense Strategic Environmental Research and Defense Program (SERDP) and Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) as well as from Industry Canada's Technology Partnership Canada (TPC) program, the Strategic Aerospace and Defense Initiative (SADI) program and Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
