Abstract:
Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council's Laboratory Network managed to fulfill the requirements and qualify to receive ISO9001:2008.
With an intention to keep costumers satisfied and ensure continuous improvement of its activities, the network has adopted quality management disciplines based on ISO 9001:2008.
According to the quality manual, clients of the network are classified into three groups: member laboratories, customers to member laboratories, and the INIC itself.
The mentioned standard necessitates a set of practices and obligations to meet the customers' needs and preferences as well as to improve quality managements.
Accordingly, the network is supposed to be committed to the following major goals:
o Efficient use of the available laboratory resources and infrastructures in nanotechnology areas
o Promotion of costumers/citizens' satisfaction level from the laboratory services provided by the network
o Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the provided services.
o Promotion of scientific and technical knowledge of the lab staffs.
o Sharing the experience and potentials of laboratory centers in various fields of nanotechnology
The ISO9001:2008 relates to quality management systems in a general sense and can be implemented to any organization involving any field of activity and number of staff flexibly. The emphasis is on quality management at different levels of production or provision of services. The standard, being based on latest concepts in management and world experiences, relieves pressure from managers and designs a systematic framework under which a system can go on with minimum degree of supervision.
