Home > Press > Establishment of Int'l Standards in Nano Labs Sets Priority for Iran
Abstract:
The 9th gathering of Iran's nanotechnology laboratory network directors was held with specialists and directors of more than 60 laboratories and research institutes in attendance.
During the conference, Dr. Reza Adadifard, the chief executive of nanotechnology laboratory network, briefed participants on the network performance within the first half of the current year, and elaborated on the prospective programs of the aforementioned network to the audience.
According to Dr. Adadifard, the network affairs during the aforesaid period include assisting two recent members (Pasteur Institute of Iran and central laboratory of Isfahan University) with the establishment of ISO/IEC17025 standard, promotion of the network knowledge, endorsement of domestic software "LIMS" purchase, and attendance of nanotechnology laboratory centers in the 4th nanotechnology festival and exhibition.
He outlined the prospective plans of the network as cooperation between nanotechnology laboratory network and the science and technology department of the country's presidential office to establish strategic technologies laboratory network, increasing the number of laboratory equipment specialized team works on 2011, ranking members' laboratories, and application of ISO9001:2008 standard.
Iran nanotechnology laboratory network (INLN) was founded in 2004 with the aim of providing an appropriate background for providing laboratory services for the academic and industrial researchers and better exploitation of national laboratory capacities. The members of this network are universities, research institutes as well as the governmental and private research centers from all around Iran which provide services in the form of a laboratory network. One of the important programs pursued by this network is to support the construction of advanced laboratory equipments in Iran.
