Specifically, LinuxLabs announces support for the LAMMPS and Gromacs Molecular Dynamics Simulators for their NimBus OS. Molecular dynamics simulations (MDS) typically are used for nanotechnology, quantum mechanics and materials research. MDSs are popular with academic and research institutions due to the wide material modeling capability, and the ability to be customized.

GROMACS (GROningen MAchine for Chemical Simulations) is a molecular dynamics simulation package, primarily designed for biochemical molecules like proteins, lipids and nucleic acids.
