Abstract:
- Fair to be open to an international audience from 10-12 October 2011
- Participants include world-class universities, research institutes and corporate labs
- Experienced engineers, earth scientists, life scientists, biologists and physicists welcome
Contact Singapore, an alliance of the Singapore Economic Development Board and Ministry of Manpower, will host its first virtual career fair for research talent between 10-12 October. The Singapore Research Virtual Career Fair invites experienced international and overseas Singaporean talent across a wide spectrum of research areas to discover the breadth of career opportunities available in Singapore.
Attendees will have the opportunity to chat online with representatives from top research institutes, including the Agency for Science Technology and Research's (A*STAR) Institute of Bioengineering & Nanotechnology, as well as representatives from the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. Multi-national companies GE Water and Vestas will also be available to discuss private sector opportunities within its corporate labs.
The Fair's partners are looking for potential faculty members, researchers and PhD holders with at least three years experience. The online format of the virtual fair will allow talented candidates to discuss specific opportunities at their own convenience no matter where they may be.
"The research industry is one of Singapore's most dynamic sectors. With a substantial 20 percent increase in investment in research funding to over S$16 billion through the government's latest five-year budget, Singapore requires the brightest talent to drive innovation and discovery across the research sector," said Ms Kee Ee Wah, Deputy Executive Director, Contact Singapore.
In addition to representatives from the sector, Contact Singapore officers will also be on hand to help answer any questions about working and living in the vibrant metropolis.
