Abstract:
AtMol, ICT-FET Integrated Project is pleased to announce the International Workshop on Atomic Scale Interconnection Machines to be held from 28 to 29 of June 2011 in Singapore.

AtMol launches its first event International Workshop on Atomic Scale Interconnection Machines (Singapore - June 28-29, 2011)

Singapore | Posted on April 29th, 2011

This European project is opening the atomic scale era of molecular computing, integrating state of the art atomic scale technologies, new quantum architectures with multi-scale interconnection and nano-packaging techniques for a single molecule to compute and be packaged into a molecular chip. The AtMol Project and its related "dissemination & training" activities are going to provide both academic researchers and industry engineers access to the tools needed to be at the forefront of the atomic scale technology revolution, a revolution beyond nanotechnology.

This International workshop, the first of AtMol series will help to establish a critical mass of R&D at an International level and to stimulate development of an interdisciplinary community of researchers. The event will take place at Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) - Singapore, an AtMol partner. The workshop will comprise five sessions with high level speakers:

-Multi-probe UHV instrumentation
-Atomic scale Nano-material nanowires charaterisation
-Atomic scale surface conductance measurements
-Surface atomic scale machineries (transistor, logic gate, mechanics)
-Industrial applications

About CEMES/CNRS
AtMol Coordination: CEMES/CNRS

The CEMES/CNRS covers a wide range of scientific activities aimed at the manufacturing, the understanding, the modeling and the manipulation of matter at the atomic scale. Physicists and chemists invent and manufacture materials, nano-materials and molecule-machines with specific and desired properties, and integrate them in demonstration devices. At CEMES, scientific research develops within three large groups: Crystalline materials under stress (MC2), Nanomaterials (nMat) and Nanosciences (GNS) which is coordinating AtMol.

AtMol dissemination: Phantoms Foundation

This Non-Profit organisation was established on November 26, 2002 (Madrid, Spain) in order to provide high level Management profile to scientific projects. This association plays an important role in the 7th Framework Programme as a platform for European funded projects (nanoICT, nanomagma, nanoCODE, AtMol, etc.) to spread excellence amongst a wider audience and to help in forming new networks. Phantoms Foundation is now a key actor in structuring and fostering European Excellence in “Nanoscience and Nanotechnology”, having a world leading position in organising conferences, training and dissemination activities in this field.
