The President of Russia visited NT-MDT exhibit

Russia | Posted on February 22nd, 2011

The exhibition "The history of Russian innovations: from periodic table to graphene" was organized by the largest Russian scientific and technical museum Polytechnical Museum and Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO).

The main idea of the exhibition was to show the evolution of Russian science, technologies and inventions, the Russian contribution to the global scientific progress using the latest achievements of the Russian leading companies.

All the up-to-date exhibits were linked to their historical pairs from Polytechnical Museum collection, and each pair demonstrated to visitors the initial and current stages of the different mechanisms and devices.

NT-MDT Co. introduced its Scanning Probe Microscope SOLVER NEXT. It was displayed together with the achromatic microscope invented by Franz Aepinus (member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and professor of physics) in 1784. It was one of the first devices that provided a glimpse into the micro-world.

In the 21st century we can see nano-details through Scanning Probe Microscope SOLVER NEXT. It is a fully automated setup that has a sub-nanometer resolution and allows us to study the physical properties and topography of the surface.

The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev opened the First Russian Festival of Science at the exhibition. The President visited NT-MDT Co. exhibit and had a brief talk with an engineer of NT-MDT Co. about the features of the SOLVER NEXT.

Such kind of governmental activities showed that the Russian Federation intends to continue revitalization strategies that use technological know-how and the most modern innovations.
