Abstract:
The Pittcon 2011 Marketing Committee is pleased to announce the launch of its official Conference and Exposition Smartphone App, "Pittcon 2011."

Pittcon Launches 2011 Smartphone App

Pittsburgh, PA | Posted on February 2nd, 2011

The complimentary app will include complete event information such as the Technical Program, exhibitor listing, Short Courses, and local area and conference related maps. The Pittcon 2011 app will be available for use on Androids, Blackberrys, iPhones, and iPod Touches with access before, during, and after the Conference. Attendees will be able to build their agendas, network with their colleagues, send tweets, and receive regular conference updates.

"We selected the Oregon-based vendor, CrowdCompass, Inc., to create our app based on their extensive expertise with this technology, as well as their diverse and knowledgeable staff, excellent customer service, enthusiasm, and professionalism," commented Marian Nardozzi, Pittcon's senior marketing and communications specialist. "Our statistics tell us that the number of those attendees using Smartphones has increased 150% over this same time last year, and according to Nielson, Smartphone usage is expected to outnumber regular phones by the end of 2011. Pittcon has always been about bringing the latest innovations and research to our attendees, so it only made sense for us to provide this technology to our audience."

The web version of the Pittcon Agenda Builder will continue to be available to those attendees without Smartphones; however, any agenda created in either application will not be accessible outside of the application in which it was created.

The Pittcon 2011 App is complimentary and can be downloaded directly by pointing your camera directly at the QR code (above) or by directing your phone's browser to j.mp/pittcon2011
