Abstract:
Nanotechnology has grown from its stage of infancy to a stage claiming the present era to be nano-era. Forest products industry is considered to be the most fertile ground for the growth of this revolutionary technology. This paper is devoted to technology forecasting on the applications of nanotechnology to all forest products industry including plantation, pulp, paper, packaging, newsprint and allied products and processes therein. The technology forecasting made here may be useful in corporate planning and initiating nanotechnology by the paper industry notably.

Technology Forecasting on Application of Nanotechnology in Forest Product Industries

India | Posted on January 27th, 2011

This paper discusses all the stages and products/processes involved in paper manufacturing in terms of application level of nanotechnology. The Forecasting methods have been applied in assigning scores out of 100 to each product/aspect. Some of the special features such as Intelligent wood, Intelligent Paper and Packaging etc are also discussed in brief.
