Whitesboro High School’s new nanotech elective ‘a lot of fun’
Abstract:
A Whitesboro High School science class recently worked through a lab experiment by observing whether water sticks to copper plates after those plates were exposed to different substances.
Was it physics? Chemistry? Not exactly — it's more specialized than that.
This is nanotechnology.
The 12 students were taking part in the inaugural class of the high school's new elective course, introduction to nanotechnology.
Junior Collette Bora, 16, is taking as many science courses as she can, but didn't know what to expect when she signed up for the new class.
"It's a lot of fun, actually," she said. "A lot of the rules (of science) are thrown out the window."
