Lightweight Materials for Defense Summit

The Institute for Defense and Government Advancement (IDGA) is pleased to announce the 10th Lightweight Materials for Defense Summit, scheduled for December 6-8, 2010 in the Washington, DC Metro Area.

IDGA's Lightweight Materials for Defense Summit is the premier industry forum to exchange ideas on new materials, trends, opportunities, applications and to identify current and future military needs. Now in its tenth year, this conference will focus on research, development and applications of lightweight materials to lighten the load and increase performance.

Speakers from Air Force Research Laboratory, Marine Corps Warfighter Lab, U.S. Office of Personnel Management, Defense Intelligence Agency, Naval Research Laboratory, NASA Glenn Research Center and many more will exchange ideas on new materials, trends, opportunities, applications and identify current and future military needs.

Highlighted topics at the summit will include:

* Updates on advanced metallics, polymerics, ceramics, multifunctional materials and glass composites
* Material research and advancement updates at the US Army Corps of Engineers
* Initiatives in integrated computational materials science and engineering
* US Marine Corps material needs for future combat systems
* US Air Force nanotechnology needs for 2030
