R&D incentives promoted
Abstract:
Dennis Mullen, the state's top economic development official, says the state -- with its new Excelsior Jobs program -- is looking for more bang for each dollar it spends.
"We're not dealing with real estate, stores, services, taverns," he said. "Do we revitalize an old building or theater? Or do we invest in nanotechnology with $6.5 billion in funding and 2,000 jobs?
"We can't afford to do both," Mullen said.
