Abstract:
Jyrki Suominen will make a keynote presentation at the 2010 International Conference on Nanotechnology for the Forest Products Industry. The event is presented by TAPPI and co-hosted by VTT. It will occur September 27-29, 2010 at the Dipoli Congress Centre in Espoo, Finland. The theme of this year's event is "Getting Down to Business with Nanotech Products."
Suominen will present "The European Commission's Approach to Development in Nanotechnology and the Road Ahead", on Wednesday, September 29, 2010. He is Programme Officer, Principal Administrator for the European Commission, DG Research, Industrial Technologies Directorate. Suominen joined the European Commission in 1996 and since July 2008, he has worked in the Nanosciences and Nanotechnologies unit in charge of work programme development and international cooperation.
Prior to joining the European Commission, he served as a business analyst for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, England and as an information technology/systems analyst for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Rome, Italy.
This Nanotechnology Conference brings together leading researchers, industry experts, government representatives and other stakeholders.
