WITec opens new regional headquarters in Singapore

Singapore | Posted on May 28th, 2010

In this step, WITec advances its strategy of being closer to the market and strengthening its
position in the Asian-Pacific region. The decision to launch the new operations in Singapore will accelerate WITec's growth and reflects the philosophy of better serving the worldwide customer base. Located in the "German Centre Singapore", the new office will provide valuable support to the numerous sales and service activities of the regional distributors. Under the leadership of Matthias Kress, WITec Director Sales Asia, the new Singapore office aims to further establish WITec
high-resolution microscope systems in the scientific community of the region. The new office is located at:

WITec Pte. Ltd.
25 International Business Park
#05-109'g' German Centre
SGP-609916 Singapore
Phone: (+65) 9026 5667

"As the Asian-Pacific scientific market offers huge potential for our microscope systems and already shows one of the biggest growth rates, the timing to establish our own regional headquarters is ideal" says new Managing Director Matthias Kress. "The decision to launch the
operations in Singapore is a reflection of an increased commitment to the Asian-Pacific market in general" Kress continues. As for the reasons why Singapore was chosen by WITec, Kress comments:"As a regional hub for Asia, Singapore is the perfect choice for the location." The driving force behind this successful development is the highly sensitive Confocal Raman Microscope system, which allows the three-dimensional imaging of chemical compounds of various materials.

Atomic Force Microscopy for structural surface analysis on the nanometer scale and Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy, capable of optically resolving structures below the diffraction limit, complete the product portfolio. "We experience a continued strong customer demand and interest in such microscope systems in this region", says Kress. "The new office can now provide extensive customer support for unparalleled customer satisfaction."
