Abstract:
As sister companies within Spectris plc, Malvern Instruments and Particle Measuring Systems have completed the transfer of sales and support for Particle Measuring Systems products in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Malvern Instruments and Particle Measuring Systems conclude customer support transfer in Nordic region

Nordic Region | Posted on March 11th, 2010

For many years Malvern subsidiaries in these countries have provided local sales and support for the Particle Measuring Systems portfolio of particle counters, microbial air samplers and molecular contamination monitors. From 1st March 2010, Particle Measuring Systems has moved to direct support of the company's complete product range in the Nordic region, with sales and service teams operating from a newly established Nordic office. This move is the result of sustained growth for both companies, each being committed to providing the highest standards of specialist support for all customers.

As of 1st March 2010 the first point of contact for Particle Measuring Systems sales and service enquires should be:

Paul Walker, Managing Director of Malvern Instruments feels that this is a natural progression for the two companies. "Particle Measuring Systems has grown to a size in the Nordic region where the company wishes to communicate with its customers through direct channels and we know that they will provide excellent support," he said. "Malvern Instruments too has developed significantly in the past five years, acquiring several specialist companies and a greatly expanded product and technology portfolio. Malvern personnel will focus on the growing Malvern product portfolio, but as many customers use systems from both Malvern and Particle Measuring Systems, there will always be a close working relationship between the two companies."

About Malvern Instruments
Malvern Instruments provides a range of complementary materials characterization tools that deliver inter-related measurements reflecting the complexities of particulates and disperse systems, nanomaterials and macromolecules. Analytical instruments from Malvern are used in the characterization of a wide variety of materials, from industrial bulk powders to nanomaterials and delicate macromolecules. A broad portfolio of innovative technologies is combined with intelligent, user-friendly software. These systems deliver industrially relevant data enabling our customers to make the connection between micro (such as particle size) and macro (bulk) material properties (rheology) and chemical composition (chemical imaging).

Particle size, particle shape, zeta potential, molecular weight, chemical composition and rheological properties measurements are now joined by advanced chromatography solutions (GPC/SEC), extending Malvern’s technologies for protein molecular weight, size and aggregation measurements, and synthetic polymer molecular weight and distribution. The company’s laboratory, at-line, on-line and in-line solutions are proven in sectors as diverse as cement production and pharmaceutical drug discovery.

Headquartered in Malvern, UK, Malvern Instruments has subsidiary organizations in all major European markets, North America, China, Korea and Japan, a joint venture in India, a global distributor network and applications laboratories around the world. www.malvern.com

About Particle Measuring Systems
With 38 years experience, Particle Measuring Systems is the established global leader in designing, manufacturing, and servicing particle counters and molecular/gas analyzers.

Particle Measuring Systems was established in 1972 by Dr. Robert Knollenberg, whose emphasis on elite technology drove our engineers to be the first to detect .05 µm particles in air and deionized water, as well as .065 µm particles in chemicals. In January 1996, Particle Measuring Systems became a member of Spectris plc.

A comprehensive line of microcontamination monitors enables users to monitor and qualify contaminants. Specific particle counting applications include cleanroom monitoring, aerosol research spectrometers, parenteral sampling, microbial air sampling, filter and in-line testing in DI water and process chemicals, and point-of-use monitoring of inert gases. We also offer a complete line of molecular contamination monitors for airborne contamination in high tech applications.

Particle Measuring Systems Nordic also provides products from GE Analytical Instruments. They design and manufacture state-of-the-art instruments for simpler, faster and more accurate analytical measurement. Their instruments combine advanced microchemistry, molecular and atomic physical measurement, along with superior engineering to achieve the most sensitive laboratory and process control instrumentation in the world. GE Analytical Instruments is the world's leading manufacturer of instruments used to measure Total Organic Carbon (TOC) in water.
