SUNYIT: State and private funds are enough to begin phase one of Nanotech Partnership
Abstract:
SUNYIT President Wolf Yeigh says the money appropriated in this year's budget and in private investment is enough to begin the "first phase" of a recently announced nanotech partnership plan, but says more will likely be needed to grow the facility and programs.
The University of Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Technology will partner with SUNYIT and private firms to create new facilities in efforts to build the Nanotechnology sector and create jobs from Albany to Marcy. Officials estimate 475 jobs would be created in the Mohawk Valley.
