July 29th, 2009
Abstract:
I'm fascinated by representations of gray goo, from Kathleen Ann Goonan's city of bees and early-twentieth century cultural muck in the novel Queen City Jazz, to the oozing citiscapes of Giacomo Costa. The curly molecules in this abstract print by Shane Hope definitely capture the essence of what Greg Bear calls "the noosphere" in his greygoopocalypse novel Blood Music.
