Nanopyramids kill cancer cells
Abstract:
Although we know that gold nanoparticles can be heated up using light to kill tumour cells, researchers at Northwestern University in the US have now quantified how these particles can be specially designed to optimize the photothermal response when exposed to infrared light. The work will be crucial for developing future nanoparticles for cancer therapy.
