Abstract:
Invitation to DTSC's Nanotechnology III Symposium March 19, 2009, Cal/EPA Building, Byron Sher Auditorium
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) is hosting the third Nanotechnology Symposium: "NanoRegulation - Anticipating the Smallest Threats and the Largest Opportunities" on March 19, 2009 in the Byron Sher Auditorium on the 2nd Floor of the Cal/EPA Building, 1001 I Street, Sacramento, California from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Check in for on site attendees will begin at 8:30 AM. The symposium will also be available via webcast at www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast/.
Please join us for this review of nanomaterials regulation. This event will focus on EPA's current activities, DTSC's chemical information call-in program for nanoscale materials, and industry perspectives. Federal interest in nanomaterials and California's efforts in this area, combined with university and industry developments, provide an opportunity for fostering technological advances that recognize environmental and public health concerns. DTSC's goal is to create a partnership to identify information gaps and research needs aimed at sustainable processes and safe applications. Speakers include:

The symposium is free and open to the public. A background in science, chemistry, or physics is not required to attend.
