Abstract:
More than 200 delegates representing 15 countries will be in Islamabad to present their research papers in the 1st ASEAN Pakistan Conference on Materials Science, APCoMs 2008 to be held from December 15-16.

According to a press release, APCoMS is being organized by the School of Chemical and Materials Engineering of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, in association with the ASEAN Secretariat, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad.

APCoMS 2008 specifically addresses the theme of ‘Advanced Materials: Opportunity and Challenges' and sub-themes in the areas of Nano materials and nanotechnology, surface engineering and polymer engineering.

NUST is ranked as number one university in Pakistan. It is taking several steps to encourage research activities in various modern science areas including Materials science. NUST has developed linkages with several national and international research institution and organizations, and is now looking forward to strengthen and extend these collaborations to others.
