Abstract:
Nanosec GmbH introduces the "IDForce" the world's smallest and fastest table-top laser personalization machine at the 2008 Cartes & IDentification Exhibition in Paris, France this week. The new machine is ideally suited for de-centralized, secure laser engraving of cards, like bank cards and National IDs. This secure card personalization solution uses an advanced fiber optic laser engraving technology with the unrivaled capability of deep penetration and long term stability by laser light induced photo chemical reaction resulting in cards with high resolution photo images up to 1600 dpi, text, bar codes, signatures, tactile characters and additional graphics or security elements.

The IDForce has an internal illumination and camera system which reads printed or punched numbers or identifies certain registration marks on the blank card. It automatically aligns the about-to-be-printed variable text and images with the captions. This sophisticated positioning system assures correct alignment of printed text, images and machine readable information.

The IDForce table-top can accommodate both contactless and contact chip cards using its integrated RFID and contact chip programming technology. In addition IDForce can personalize magstripe (HiCo and LoCo) cards as well as provide additional security features ensuring best in class secure card personalization.

The machine utilizes the latest fiber optic laser technology which provides for at least 30,000 hours of uninterrupted use before replacement and requires no consumables for ID card personalization eliminating a significant cost per card. The machine also incorporates specialized techniques allowing both sides of the ID card to be personalized without any movable mechanisms inside.

Both the design and the price point make this the ideal solution for customers who want to deploy low maintenance, decentralized high security laser personalization technology.
