![]() |
Abstract:
Ecology Coatings, Inc., a leader in the discovery and development of nanotechnology-enabled, ultra-violet curable advanced materials, today announced that Joseph Nirta has been named a director of the Board. The addition expands the Ecology Coatings Board to four members.
"Joe is a seasoned executive whose depth of experience in the development of innovative software and knowledge of the securities industry and corporate governance greatly enhances the Ecology Coatings Board," said Ecology Chairman Richard D. Stromback. "His involvement with and development of cutting-edge technology that revolutionized the bond trading market, with the introduction of an electronic bond trading platform, indicates his ability to think outside the box, which will benefit Ecology's management team, as the company proceeds to the commercialization of its diverse family of UV-cured coatings."
Nirta was the co-founder of BondExchange LLC and BondDesk Group LLC. The electronic bond trading platform created by Nirta revolutionized the online bond trading market. The BondDesk LLC software platform reported record trades of 1.3 million for the first quarter of 2008. Nirta served as the company's chief information officer and a board member for nine years. He has a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, and is a Certified Oracle DBA.
"Ecology Coatings' technology has the potential to transform the coatings industry with a family of environmentally friendly, UV-cured coatings that are more cost effective and efficient than existing products," said Nirta. "I look forward to working with the Ecology Coatings team, as the company continues to increase its presence in this important business sector."
Ecology Coatings plans to add one additional director, at which time the Board will nominate and appoint a Chair of the Audit Committee.
