Abstract:
Process engineers and device integrators will be sought during Oct. 21 event at CNSE
The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering ("CNSE") of the University at Albany will hold a Job Fair this month to assist in recruiting qualified candidates for new engineering positions that will play a critical role in expanding a variety of leading-edge programs in nanoelectronics research and development.
The Job Fair - the fourth to be held at CNSE in just over two years - is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 from 5 to 8 pm at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex. Staff representatives from CNSE and its global corporate partners will conduct initial interviews among candidates for the Process Integration and Process Engineering positions, which have annual salaries that range from $70,000 to over $120,000.
Engineering candidates are being sought with strong backgrounds consisting of education and experience in process engineering and device integration on the 300mm wafer platform. The new positions will focus on development and implementation of a host of process technologies involving 32 nm and beyond, including lithography, etch, thin films, chemical mechanical planarization ("CMP"), physical vapor deposition ("PVD"), chemical vapor deposition ("CVD"), electroplating and metrology, among others.
Dr. Alain E. Kaloyeros, Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of CNSE, said, "The UAlbany NanoCollege is pleased to once again offer challenging and rewarding high-tech career opportunities to qualified residents of the Capital Region, Hudson Valley and New York State. The need for another job fair at CNSE demonstrates the continuing success of the strategic investments in nanotechnology made by Governor Paterson and Assembly Speaker Silver, which are providing attractive high-tech career paths to New Yorkers while also showcasing New York's growing global leadership in nanotechnology education, research and economic development."
The positions offer a benefits package that includes medical, dental and life insurance, and a generous retirement plan. Individuals interested in attending and interviewing at the job fair are encouraged to pre-register at www.cnse.albany.edu/events/jobfair2008.html, where they will find additional information, can fill out an application and upload their resume.
More than 1,000 resumes for technical, engineering and infrastructure support positions were submitted through previous job fairs held at CNSE in May 2006, January 2007 and September 2007.

About UAlbany CNSE
The UAlbany CNSE is the first college in the world dedicated to research, development, education, and deployment in the emerging disciplines of nanoscience, nanoengineering, nanobioscience, and nanoeconomics. In May 2007, it was ranked as the world's number one college for nanotechnology and microtechnology in the Annual College Ranking by Small Times magazine. CNSE's Albany NanoTech complex is the most advanced research enterprise of its kind at any university in the world: a $4.5 billion, 450,000-square-foot complex that attracts corporate partners from around the world and offers students a one-of-a-kind academic experience. The UAlbany NanoCollege houses the only fully-integrated, 300mm wafer, computer chip pilot prototyping and demonstration line within 65,000 square feet of Class 1 capable cleanrooms. More than 2,000 scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and faculty work on site at CNSE's Albany NanoTech complex, from companies including IBM, AMD, SEMATECH, Toshiba, ASML, Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron, Vistec Lithography and Freescale. An expansion currently underway will increase the size of CNSE's Albany NanoTech complex to over 800,000 square feet, including over 80,000 square feet of Class 1 capable cleanroom space, to house over 2,500 scientists, researchers, engineers, students, and faculty by mid-2009.
